Electromagnetic safety lock
application:
The AZM series electromagnetic safety locks are designed to prevent movable safety guards, such as fences, hinges or doors, from being opened when dangerous conditions have not been eliminated (e.g. during operation) in combination with the machine's control components (e.g. automatic fail-safe delay, fail-safe static monitoring, etc.).
These electromagnetic safety locks are also used to open guards to indicate that no unauthorized access is allowed during the production process.
Design and operation:
AZN series electromagnetic safety lock, the switching element with interlocking device is not physically connected to the actuator, but functionally connected or separated when switching. When the safety protection is opened in the unlocked state, the actuator is separated from the base unit. In this process, the normally closed contact is definitely opened and the normally open contact is closed.
Interlocking by fastening bolts / locking bolt. This locking bolt locks the actuator so that it cannot be removed from the interlock. The machine can only be controlled if the actuator is inserted into the interlock and the locking bolt is in the locked position. This is ensured by contact monitoring of the locking bolt.
There are two interlocking methods. The principle of "power to unlock" is that the locking bolt is pushed to the specified position by a spring. When the interlock release coil is energized, the interlock is released and the NC contacts are opened. The protective device can now be opened. For reversing the "power to lock" operating mode.
The electromagnetic safety locks AZM 150, 161, 170, 190 and 415 are designed to prevent incorrect locking. Depending on the type of unit, the actuator can be individually coded.
The electromagnetic safety lock can be installed in any desired installation position. The electromagnetic safety lock has a protection degree of IP 54, IP 65 or IP 67.
